We go b/c we love the people getting married, but I promise, no one really wants to use their PTO to attend (or be in) you wedding. Destination weddings are awesome, but admit they're also selfish.
Despite being selfish, you still have to put the guest first. You have to wedding breaks during a destination wedding. This is both for you and also a (the only?) vacation for some, guests should have time to go see whatever it is you see in that particular city and encouraged to do so. They should be able to go out in smaller groups and have "vacation" experiences vs "wedding" experiences. All for it, if it's well planned and guests have options.
I'm also still really against the new trend of
- Entrance Fees (Seriously no one even wants to go, I'm not paying at the door
- Cash Bars (invite less people, pay for their drinks)
