Justus finds Kristina sitting by herself on the pier near the boat house.

Kristina was throwing some rocks by the water as Justus made himself known to her. ''How are you?''

''Negative forces are clouding me.'' Kristina threw the last rock in and sighed. ''Why did you follow me, Justus?''

''I was worried about you being alone.''

''Because of the baby?''

''Because I care about you.''

Kristina stood up and glared at him. ''Why would you care about me? Besides the fact that I put so many people's lives in danger--you barely know me.''

''I know I don't. But I can relate to your situation. The Quartermaines didn't know me or my father's connection to them, but then we sort of became a family. Then I did something awful, I killed a man in self-defense and defended the person arrested for the crime. Things have been different between me and them ever since.''
