Keesha smiled and kissed him
What happens next?“If there’s one thing we’ve proved with all our troubles, AJ, it’s that we’re survivors,” Keesha leaned into him, embracing him. “I know we’ve got other things to deal with now, but deep down I never lost those feelings I had for you. They’re still inside of me, waiting for a second chance…”
AJ drew back, looking into her eyes. Tears were welling in them, but they shined with love. They smiled at each other and he felt his heart swell. “I feel the same way, Keesha. All of those feelings came back the moment I saw you again. I love you.”
They kissed again, more passionately than ever before, but their kiss was interrupted by the sound of breaking glass. Keesha’s eyes darted to the closed door behind AJ. “Mary?” she called out.
AJ turned, grabbing the knob, but the door was stuck. “Stand back,” he warned Keesha.
He started to ram the door with his body, ignoring the pain as the door started to give way. Keesha continued to scream for her daughter. Something was seriously wrong.
When the door finally flew open, Mary’s room was empty and the drapes swayed in the breeze from the broken window.
