When we moved into our house many moons ago, we lost a LOT of trees between our house and the main road. Then we had a lot of trees cut down by the city, and really felt the loss of screening. Then we got a hot tub in the back yard and REALLY felt the lack of screening!
we have a large back yard, so we built a berm-like raised garden with 6 full sized trees and 2 dwarf trees to give us some much needed privacy. Over the years we added a flagstone sitting area, hostas along the edge, some spirea and other bushes.
it's huge, and we need SO MANY MORE PLANTS to take up the real estate because the weeding is INSANE!!! we have used weed mat, we mulch regularly and still.....so the past THREE WEEKENDS I've spent weeding and edging and weeding some more. I have gotten the garden to the point where everything i see out the windows is done, and everything behind that...is not. LOL
next weekend I should be able to wrap it up. I have NO idea why the weeds love this spot more than any other. I can weed the entire front yard in one weekend, but this damn berm is taking almost a full month.
what this means is: I NEED MORE PLANTS!! and I love new plants!!!
