We marked Epiphany on Sunday, but today is actually Epiphany, the Twelfth Day of Christmas. Christmas presents aren't late unless they arrive after today.

It's also my wedding anniversary. I chose January 6th because it's a big in many hispanic communities and my now late ex-husband was hispanic. No, he didn't remember our anniversary or why that day was special.

We might take down the tree this weekend.

Today was also "special" because one of my dogs found a bottle of medication in my daughter's room, took the bottle outside to the new sod area and got into the medication. My daughter had no idea how many pills had been in the bottle, so, out of an abundance of caution...off to the vet we went after calling Pet Poison Control following advice from our vet. $89 for the case to be opened, then their recommendation to take the dog to the vet for induced vomiting and charcoal, then possibly to an emergency vet in another city...depending on what the vet recommends after running some blood tests. $717 later, we took the dog to the vet in another city to have observation and some other tests. I'll pick her up tomorrow evening around 6pm.

I had my daughter, the one with the unsecured medications, drive her to the vet because I was at the house with both the exterminator and the HVAC guy for two scheduled appointments that had already started and wouldn't end for about 30 more minutes for the exterminator and another hour or so with the HVAC guy. He finished the interior services, secured the side gate so the other dog could be let out in the yard (the exterminator's exterior work products had dried by then), and did the work on the roof. <SIGH>

BTW, today is the drug dog's birthday. She turned nine.
