away now that many people can Zoom or Facetime. And Zoom and Facetime are fine, but I feel they aren't quite as good for connecting as face-to-face time. Besides, IIRC, don't your family reunions often involve excursions and not just sitting around picnic tables at a park?
Bff is lucky enough to still have family reunions on both sides of her family. She hates it but I was always a little jealous...I would love to be part of a big family that wants to stay in touch. One thing they did on her dad's side: they always have teams of three people planning each year's reunion. These teams usually feature people from different generations, and it's only for one year. Towards the end of each reunion, they either take volunteers or "elect" the three that will plan the following reunion. It keeps people from having to be the one to organize everything year after year.
