Top house so far:
1. This absolutely ADORABLE 3-bedroom cottage-ish style home in South Pocket. A bit small (1,400 SF) and over-priced for that size, but about a block from the levee, and in the cutest little micro neighborhood within South Pocket. It's not as close as I'd like to the canals (5 blocks), but it's a block from the levee. However, the area is so dang cute, I'd be happy just walking around there on my way to said canals or the levee.
This one has a gazebo and a shed out back, and we could buy another shed that would fit into the back. I mean, CUTE.
We've only seen it from the outside, will view on Thursday.
2. A 1,900+ sf very "Greenhaven" ranch home. Price is higher than we'd like BUT it basically has four bedrooms. Or three bedrooms and a studio. Room the back for a shed. Not really close to any of my beloved parks or the river. Only LW and I have seen it...we will take Marty back. Possibility of a studio for him right in the house. And an office/work out room for me. PLUS both a living room and a bonus room.
Nothing else we would even think about.
We're also exploring income properties, so we did take a look at a duplex today right next to the river. BUT...squatters got into it and it would require many many fixes. It smelled like pee. We are not DIYers. Not for us.
We looked at a smaller unit last week, about 1,300 sf. Too small.
And of course, the first one we looked at that we passed on because it was not accessible and because I saw a dead bug and that was the end of that.
