American gun violence is out of control and horrific, but as a Canadian maybe not the most pressing thing we pay attention to since it's a) not something we can have much influence over and b) not a conversation we are in the same place with. I knew he was a right-wing hate monger. I knew he freaked people out. But I am trying not to pay too much attention to people like him until I HAVE to.
Anyway. Just last night I saw for the first time that he was apparently heavily vilified by white nationalists -- which immediately filled me with dread. There's an element where I don't want them to pin this on the left (they will try to) but that's also so messed up. The last thing he said was a racist dog whistle. What's this about?
