If Lante is the direction they are going - Liz and Dante do not have any natural conflict right now. They’re not cheating on anyone, keeping any secrets, are both stable people, etc.
It’s a soap and there needs to be conflict/obstacles - but I can’t help but wonder if Ric is what the are drumming up.
I would rather they recast/bring back one of Liz’s sons and have him disapprove of the relationship or be a troublemaker where he (whatever son) gets in some legal trouble and Dante has to arrest him or something.
