The show brought the character on too soon, and when John York had his medical issue and was on leave for a couple of years the show didn't know what to do with him. He was all over the place -- as a deception model (ugh),] not helped by the boring pairing with Sasha (until they discovered they were related). Things improved when Cody started working for the Q's. His scenes with James and Tracey have been consistent and have been good for his character.
The problem is that there is no more story with Molly and Cody than there was with Molly and TJ! The problem wasn't TJ, the two characters were too segregated from the rest of the characters on the show. Cody and Molly are two secondary characters with limited air time. Cody's scenes with Tracey are worth watching (Jane Elliot is always entertaining), but he and Molly are both tier two low energy characters and once they get together I don't see it leading to anything interesting. Again giving a character a love interest is not the same as giving the a storyline.
