I can enjoy Lucas because IN ADDITION TO HIS SCENES WITH MARCUS he has scenes with family and friends. As a returned character he has a lot of secondary relationships so we see him being more than Marcus' snugglebunny.

A huge mistake was having Lucas move to Wyndemere! Yes there is some drama having Lucas living in the same house as Sidwell -- but since he is dating Marcus there are plenty of opportunities for Sidwell drama.

If they had their own place .... close to Liz, Maxie (and James), or some other Lucas connection it would be good for both characters but especially Marcus.

I've said it many times and I'm sure I will say it again, but secondary relationships are the best to to show different sides of characters! Yes, Luke and Laura were a great couple but Luke became significantly more entertaining when he had Robert to bounce off of -- and later his relationship with Lucky. Frisco and Felicia started out with the Ice Princess storyline that included Luke and Robert.

That is the problem with the agent "dating Joss." I am ok with her being an WSB agent, but immediately bringing in a love interest to be her partner. Since I am not even remotely interested in their romance, there is absolutely reason for me to like Vaughn (finally remembered his name). I've only seen him in variations of he same scene with the same characters. Does he have a sense of humor? Does he have any friends? He was simply popped in the middle of the show and I couldn't care less about his romantic life when he isn't interesting as an individual character! This isolation of character has brought Joss down, rather than the storyline adding another level of her character.
