I love Chase. He is one of my favorite characters and I like JS a lot as well...

But... the show killed off or sent away all of his family... he came on as the new handsome eye candy cop when the show lost RP. RP is back.

Chase without his connection to the Qs is a character with no significant connections to the canvas... thus very disposable.

I wouldn't put it past the show to even have him be the one who shot Drew to protect poor pitiful Willow.
