getting away with it that makes me resent these characters after awhile. It's why the anit-hero doesn't work so well on a soap opera. The "bad boy" or "bad girl" works because they are humanized and often get reformed but just to be a mobster or a hitman for 30 years without paying for any of it makes me despise them.

I loved the show "The Shield". I was so into it, I rewatched each season before a new season began. Vic Mackey was basically a mob boss with a badge, a total dirty cop who did all the awful things. He entertained me for seasons but I would've been FURIOUS if the show had ended with him paying zero price for all his crimes.
