Abbot's wife had died but they didn't get to work that info into season 1. I think this was the first time the audience was told that via the character tho. I hope we learn what happened some day. We know he lost his leg in service but I wouldn't mind hearing more details of how it happened.

I don’t get why some people think Abbot is so much more together than Robby emotionally. The first time we met him in S1 (so less than a year ago in show time), he was standing on the edge of the roof. And when he’s not working in the ER, he’s working on the police SWAT team.

Abbot is totally a mess himself but he admits he needs help and is actively getting therapy. That puts him a slight step ahead of Robby right now. I think McKay might be the most together person and she just got off house arrest. šŸ˜‚ I think Abbot is just a cool character tho. The way he showed up after the shooting in season 1, just totally calm in the midst of the chaos, donating his own blood while working on a patient. I was sold on him forever. But he clearly has some PTSD. I think that comes through in how he needs the chaos, probably the only place he can feel calm is in the center of it.

I love the way the show gives us little pieces of characters backgrounds for us to piece together. Robby being abandoned by his mother when he was 8, for example. I don’t think Dana knew that until their little ā€œYou’re not my motherā€ exchange. And Baby Jane Doe now knows more than Dana about that.

I do, too. I like the format and how we don't really follow the characters home after their shift ends (other than a few glimpses like the Mel and Santos scene). We learn bits and pieces about them but also you feel like you know who they are as people even if you don't know that much about their day-to-day lives.

I loved S2’s mid end credit scene of Mel and Santos singing angry karaoke. They’re finding creative ways for Isa Briones to sing a little. First the lullaby to Baby Jane Doe and then the karaoke. Loved that Santos pulled Mel’s hair down. Santos is going to help Mel blossom.

That was so much fun. And IB has a gorgeous voice. I hope every season now ends with some glimpse into a person's life like that. Them just doing something silly or fun.

I could talk about this show forever. So many great details.

Me, too. It has great rewatch potential. I was rewatching a season 1 episode and it hit me that Robby was almost at PittFest. He was suppose to go with Jake but Jake wanted to take his girlfriend instead so Robby gave her his ticket. It's those seemingly small choices that change everything.
