We were watching tv in the family room and heard this loud THUMP. It even woke Jack up, he called to us "what was THAT?" Went upstairs and a big branch was on the deck. Luckily the only damage was a small dent in the gutter, it barely missed the roof.
We had a guy come out and trim the tree the next week, we were worried the whole tree needed to come down but he said the tree as a whole looked great. It's a huge maple, probably 40 feet tall at least. He trimmed a bunch of branches and also trimmed a mulberry tree in our yard that also hangs over our neighbor's fence (we didn't even know what kind of tree it was, lol). The sycamore seemed fine.
I actually kind of want to cut down the maple and build an addition, but that won't be for several years if ever.
