in the theater. There were maybe five of us altogether...one guy slept through almost the entire movie while the four of us who stayed awake were shaking our heads and going "huh?" DL was the master at answering one question while raising ten more.

It also probably helps if you've seen Blue Velvet, Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive (and maybe Eraserhead). If you haven't, it doesn't take away from it or anything..it just helps you understand the style, vibe, mood, energy...

I've seen Blue Velvet (again, a long time ago) and I've seen bits and pieces of Mulholland Drive.

Lots of people who loved the series were not a fan of The Return, but people who are fans of David Lynch outside of Twin Peaks loved it. I've seen The Return three times now, and each time I like it more and understand it less and more.

Love your last line! I'm not sure if I'd consider myself a Lynch fan but I'm willing to go into the show with an open mind.
