that L was always easily offended (still is) and had some personal beef with the bindery's owner that I never quite understood. I never really felt one way or another about the owner...he came around once in a while just to see for himself how things were going, and I respected that, but I always had trouble "reading" him. Was he being nice because he truly IS nice or was it more "Look at me being nice to the peasants!"? I was touched when he pulled me aside the last week of work and told me there would always be a place for me at another, larger sister bindery in Indiana if I didn't mind moving (if Dad wasn't around, I would've considered it). I was the only one he made that offer to. But then again, I was mildly annoyed when he didn't attend my mother's calling hours since he had not one but two connections to our family: he was both my boss and he attended church with my brother.
Eh, water under the bridge at this point. I don't see how the owner could actually do anything now (I'm convinced L thinks he could just write all his former employees a check right this minute).
