I'm so excited I can't stand it, lol
Even though I still haven't booked any hotels for the Big Island yet. And we were supposed to stay with my friend for two nights - one night before the BI, one night when we got back. But Saturday I spent the day with another friend of ours and she recommends that we do not stay there, that our friend's dad is regressing mentally and she's worried about Jack seeing that. I'm trying to find a tactful way to bring it up. The friend in HI is also supposed to be going with us to the BI but I am very doubtful she will; on Tuesday (literally three hours after I bought our tickets to the island) her dad fell while getting into the car and broke his ankle in three places and will be having surgery to repair it later this week (hopefully). So I really don't know if it's feasible for us to stay with them. It's already going to be a tough trip because realistically her dad should probably be in a nursing home but she's trying to do it all herself and it's killing her. I'm hoping we can have some tough conversations while I'm there.
