slowly so plows have had plenty of time to keep up. After what seemed like a million inches of snow in a very short time in January, this seems like nothing.

And speaking of snow...Dad went out this morning and shoveled two tire tracks down the driveway, as our plow guy hadn't been around*. Shortly after, our kind neighbor across the street came over with his snow blower and cleared the rest of the driveway. He then went to the house next to us, owned by a couple in their 80s, and did their driveway as well. This is the same guy who basically orchestrated the removal of my car from the 2' of snow I'd plowed into while backing down my driveway a few weeks, and I thanked him profusely but now I would like to do something a little more to thank him. Suggestions? I'm thinking definitely a thank-you card and maybe a dozen homemade cookies. I recently made a batch of these [link] partly to thank a co-worker for switching shifts with me when I wanted to participate in a library program earlier this month, partly to use up some chocolate chips a different co-worker had given me (she and her husband were giving up sweets for Lent and didn't want the temptation in their house) and partly because my niece made something similar for Christmas and I wanted to try to duplicate them (mine were delicious...hers were even better. I need to get her recipe). Anyways, I wound up giving cookies to other co-workers and they were such a hit, I made a second batch for my bff's birthday. Dad was thrilled to help finish off the leftovers <g>.

* of course our plow guy showed up about 10 minutes after the neighbor cleared our driveway. That's happened several times already this winter.
