the sun rise, I usually go right back to sleep when I realize that I’d only been asleep for a few hours. An early sunrise is a little like having a cat who wants breakfast way earlier than I want to wake up. Now that I’m retired, my natural night owl nature is unrestrained and I’m often up (and sometimes out and about in the city that allegedly never sleeps)very late. I have no problem being awake and/or out in the dark at night. But I do like having more light in the early evenings for some activities especially in parks and on beaches. It feels kind of dreary to me when the sun sets around 5pm. I do get why some people who have to be in to work early in the morning like an early sunrise. But I liked DST even when I was still working in the morning because, if I was inside in an office all day, it was nice to have a few hours of sunlight after I left work.
