PTSD and Robby’s post-COVID/post-Dr Adamson’s death PTSD. But for me, they feel like very different shows, both of which I love. For me, Transplant was half medical show and half an immigration story. I also see the comparison of The Pitt to 24, which I loved, in terms of the timeframe concept. But The Pitt feels fresh and like its own thing to me. Both Transplant and 24 had numerous locations. But in The Pitt, the only location is the ER. In that sense, it’s almost more like a very fast-paced, chaotic play with one basic set. I like many of the characters and want to know more about them; and everything we learn about them, we learn through the dialogue in bits and pieces between all the action. We don’t go home with these characters to get their backstories. We have to piece it together a little bit at a time. It just feels very well done and, yes, different to me.
