And I also loved Dr. Abbot because he's Shawn Hatosy. Those 2 actors gave me a foot into the world and then I came to get to know the other characters with various degrees of liking them or feeling ambivalent to them. It does take a minute to get to know them all but faves were found among them.
I love a lot of the guest appearances over the season, too. One of the interesting things about keeping the season contained to one day is you see some stories play out for multiple episodes and you get more time with the guest players. I love Samantha Sloyan from the Mike Flanagan horror verse and she has an incredible arc over several episodes.
