She took down her Christmas decorations two days after Christmas? Why???
Who does that? OK, when I was growing up, our next door neighbor's daughter (who was just a bit younger than me and one of my first good friends) always asked her folks to take down the Christmas tree and decorations on Christmas night. I guess for her, Christmas ended with presents 😆 I honestly don't know if her parents accommodated her wish...I'm guessing not since a) they had another kid and my friend was probably outvoted and b) decorations can take a while to put up and I'm guessing few people have the energy at the end of a busy Christmas day to take them down.
I'm Jewish and pretty sure I've told this story here before, but I'm old, so indulge me, lol. When my (35yo) Lana was maybe four or five, I used to always drive home after work/dark the long way to go by the houses that had great lights/decor. And she piped up, "At our next house, can we get one with a lot of Christmas lights?" 😂 She thought the lights came with the house! So I explained to her that we didn't have lights because we were Jewish, but that if we were Christian, trust me we'd be one of the houses that people drove to go see! And I always went crazy with Halloween decor, lol. It was my Christmas.
Awww...I'm old too, so I don't remember that story but it's adorable. On a semi-related note, I see an increasing number of houses with permanent lights (the kind that attach just under the eaves usually) and then just change the lighting scheme with the holiday. I hope you put up outdoor Halloween lights at least!
**Marked spoiler for your GCF taking down her Christmas decor 2 days after Christmas. Also, I miss AQ.
So do I.
