It's been WILD to see. Crave giving a show based on a straight up romance novel six episodes is crazy and I can't imagine they'd have done it for anyone other than Jacob Tierney, who worked on their two prior biggest hits.
Good for them. I really hope this opens up the door for more queer media and love stories, especially since the networks are seeing there is an interest and they bring in ratings.
Yeah, I think this is where we probably just see different things in the show. The hockey part of the show is so familiar to me....
This was all very interesting to me because I know zero percent about hockey. I'm not joking when I say that. Hockey was never a thing where I grew up and I've never seen a game. In fact, I was largely confused by some of the hockey stuff and wishing they'd explain it a little better for the dummies like me. I understand this is a Canadian show and they weren't expecting it to be this successful in other countries or areas where hockey isn't popular. Where I grew up, it was football and nothing but football. I would understand football references in a show but hockey leaves me out in the cold (pardon the pun).
Like, I spent 2 episodes thinking Scott and Shane played for the same team before someone tried to explain to me they were just on the All Stars team together which I assume is like a Pro Bowl thing (football). 🤣 I don't even know what a hat trick is but I assume it's good.
(Aside: this is where I love the Gingerale theory -- all episode Shane can't get gingerale, except for at Ilya's, who just gives it to him without his having to ask. Yes, I know this is insane. But that gingerale came up FOUR times!)
