because they are very pretty and some are so much like straight up jewelry, i want to GET ONE!

but then I wear it, and it gets clanged up on my desk when I'm working and banged around on tables and arms of chairs, and......yeah. LOL

I have several watches - Mr. Kris gave me one for our wedding (I gave him a pocketwatch, we did not discuss beforehand what we were getting) and has given me one or two since. But I like the smart watch so much I tend to ignore my other watches! I'll have to try wearing this one soon, it's pretty and hopefully won't turn my skin green lol.

I so hear you on the decorations for your new house! I think the days of garlands and whatnot 'lasting' are out the window. It is PERFECTLY OKAY to replace items that just won't work in your new home - especially if this is your forever home, you know? You DESERVE new stuff - but maybe not at full, pre-christmas prices. SO MUCH STUFF goes on sale over the holidays.

I do have indoor decorations that have really lasted - the tree still looks good but the prelit strands have crapped out. So we have to set aside lights to put on the tree, separate from the ones to go outside.

as for decorations, ignoring my own issues, may i recommend the SOLAR outside lights? The panels are very small, and they don't need to be in direct sunlight per se, they just have to be pointed at a sunny SKY. Obviously they can't be in the full on shade, but they will light for 6 hours on very little sunlight. We use solar lights outside almost exclusively. You can get them in various shapes and colors on amazon. Here are 3 sets that I have:

Thanks for the recommendations! We get a TON of light from the southern exposure (we have solar panels on the house and they save us a FORTUNE in electricity costs!). So solar lights would probably be great. One annoying thing we realized about the new house is that the outdoor plugs in the front are on the left side of the house, which means the extension cord has to run over the sidewalk to get to the yard where the blow ups are. So I need to tape down the extension cord or get another extension on that to snake it around the front door so people don't trip over it. Mr. Kris already did and unplugged the penguin (didn't fall luckily).

I also love the idea of cookies, but I don't like to bake, LOLOL. We have used rolls of sugar cookie dough, but then fell apart on decorating them. I give you and Jack huge kudos for even attempting it!!

I fear next week I will be doing nothing but baking from Wednesday on!
