It's a fun, enjoyable, somewhat soapy mess, sure. But it almost feels more like Veep, if Veep took out the comedy and insults and Selina Meyer were halfway competent...(though there are a lot of humorous moments, it's not at all a comedy).
Keri Russell plays a new ambassador to the United Kingdom and her first day is right after an attack on a UK boat at sea by...whom? She wheels and deals but also deals with her estranged husband she wants to divorce, who is also a diplomat and who has his own ideas about what could happen.
I think after watching The Americans last year I was hoping for something similar in tone. That said, we're both enjoying it for what it is.
