Wicked:For Good sometime on the weekend (or week) after Thanksgiving. I enjoyed last year’s first half.
I love parents taking their kids to a theater to see movies. My neighborhood theater has 8 screening rooms and Zootopia2 is about to arrive and draw lots of families with kids. They always look so happy coming out of the movie theater. There’s one of those claw games in the lobby where you can try to grab a small stuffed animal. I swear that machine must be rigged. I’ve watched so many dad’s get stuffed animals for their kids out of that thing. If they have more than one kid with them, they manage to be able to “win” a stuffed animal twice in a row. The lobby also has one of those photo booths where you can get a strip of four photos taken. It’s a very old, very retro, independently owned movie theater.
I love going to theaters to see movies and want them to survive. They will disappear if younger generations grow up only watching movies at home. Kids will come to Wicked too. Last year, some kids came to see the movie dressed as Galinda and Elphaba. Great childhood memories are made in movie theaters.
