It is a vast improvement over what was there, but still not crazy about it.

I picked a color called Slow Green [link] for the top (you may remember this room was painted grey on top, purple on bottom, with a black chair rail) and another color I can't remember the name of on the bottom but which was the color next to Slow Green so I thought that meant it was a complementary color and it is not. It's...fine. Mr. Kris called it "Institutional Green" and does not like it (he also said he didn't care when I asked him for his input so I'm not too happy with him). I saw the room when the top half was done and the bottom was in primer and thought it looked great, once the lower color was going on I thought "eh...." but figured it would look better when it was done and I really don't care for it. I am kicking myself because I should have just stopped him and said I didn't like it and painted the bottom half white and I didn't like an idiot.

We're going to see what we think about it after a month or so and if we still hate it we're thinking of either painting it white, putting up wainscoting and painting that white, or maybe seeing what we think with some stick and peel wallpaper.

I do absolutely LOVE the Slow Green though.

They also painted the accent wall in my dining room and it looks fabulous! Took three coats though which is annoying since it's supposed to be "one coat guarantee". I now have at least half a quart of it because I had to go buy another quart. There's also a small wall next to the stairs that I'm thinking of painting the same color, I should be able to do that myself though. Not much to paint around and not as big a pain in the butt as painting around the bay window was.
