He's generally a very playful and warm person with the fans -- so that is not my take. But I also tend to think that what happened when he was a kid left a strong negative impression on him, and I have sympathy for that.

But, especially these days, it seems like it's a bit of a game he plays with the media because everyone knows he's hated the team since he was a child, and Yankee detractors enjoy it.
