- root against the Steelers (while grudgingly liking them for being on Cleveland's side when Modell stole the Browns and relocated them to Baltimore)
- root against the Ravens (not as classic a rivalry as Browns/Steelers but the whole "You stole our team!" thing still stings all these years later)
- root against the University of Michigan, especially their football team ("O-H!" "I-O!")
- root against whatever basketball team did the Cavs wrong the previous year, whether it was knocking us out of the playoffs or injuring a player (i.e hating the Warriors or hating the Celtics after Kelly Olynyk pulled Kevin Love's left arm out of its socket early on in the 2015 playoffs).
