They didn't do the area next to the garage because they plan to bring in some heavy equipment to break up some giant eucalyptus tree roots, scrape the area, and start the process of installing pavers. It's where my daughter usually parks her vehicle (an SUV), so she'll have to park across the street. My neighbor had said previously that she didn't mine.

I'm not sure if they're going to complete all the paving in one day or not. They also have to load up the debris that's settled in that area and take it to the dump. The landscaper's goal is to finish the front then basically lock the team in the backyard. They plan to pull all their heavy equipment into the backyard at one time and work there with the gates closed so the dogs can wander. He said that the dogs are friendly, so having them in the area wouldn't be a problem. I plan to try to keep the dogs out of the area as much as possible to prevent injuries to the dogs, having the dogs undo their work immediately, or finding out that they aren't nearly as friendly as we thought they were. Sometimes dogs just take an instant dislike to someone and you're stuck with a dog trying to rip someone's throat out. My cute lab (about 70 pounds) took an instant dislike to my ex and tried to lunge at him while the dog was in the back of the Rav4. Hackles up and everything. I'd never seen her do that before.

No work today. Bad weather. Not as bad as the weather I drove through yesterday, despite multiple warnings from the National Weather Service NOT to drive, to take my youngest dog to the vet for a follow up. It's usually a one hour and twelve minute drive. It took about an hour and a half. I got hit with dry dirt (the front of a haboob) while surrounded by lightning, then the buckets of rain that cut my speed down to about 45mph at times with my windshield wipers going as fast as possible. The appointment went well. Her Horner's Syndrome resolved itself without medication or anything. No raised third lid, the pinpoint pupil is back to normal size. A five minute appointment for $195. Follow up next year. I'm going to let them know that if the weather is that bad next year, I'm canceling my appointment, even if it's at the last minute.

Landscaping will resume Monday...hopefully. Have a great weekend.
