married not long before they were planning, and in the wedding video all you hear through the whole ceremony is some baby crying. You would think people with kids would have enough sense to take them out if they start crying, but not everyone has sense.

So it was mainly that, plus the venue had a strict 150 people max limit, so no kids - with the exception of my two nephews (my older brother's kids), who were 7 and 8 at the time. It actually caused a huge brouhaha in the family when my cousin RSVP'd yes for her, her husband, and her at the time nearly 1 year old. My brother had to call her and tell her kids weren't allowed, which ended in a conversation where she told my soon to be SIL that "she might marry into the *my name* family but she would never truly be a party of the *my name* family". Like, she made my brother cry. And this was our cousin that we said was our genetic half-sister, because our dads were identical twins. She ended up not coming at all because her husband had some medical issue right before the wedding but honestly I doubt she was actually planning on going.

For my wedding, I invited everyone in the family, so for just my dad's side of the family it was like 55 people including all the kids. There were a ton there and I never even considered excluding any of them, I wanted all the family and friends to be there. Though my younger brother actually didn't bring his kids, lol. They stayed home with grandparents and he and my SIL treated it like a vacation. His kids were both under 4 (I think one was 3 and the other 18 months). My older brother brought his two boys and his daughter, who was maybe 5 months old at the time. No issues at all.
