three doctors appointments and one ultrasound were before my home elevator went down for three weeks. This whole thing, through several stages has lasted 6-7 weeks and I’m still not 100% back to normal yet. The infection is gone and the raw damaged skin has healed and replaced itself. I had about a 4” blister on my calf that broke and another big one on the outside ankle. Those wounds were like very bad burns. They took their time but thankfully those wound sites healed completely. My leg was red and very swollen from knee to toes but now it’s only my ankle and foot that is still swollen but no longer red or deep purple.
I’m planning on getting back to the pool for a swim on Monday. That should help get rid of the foot/ankle swelling and get some oxygenated blood flowing to the injury site. I’m grateful that I didn’t end up in the hospital. Who knew a bug bite could cause so much damage.
