1) the mag light was for the garage, basement or kitchen. Some folks had them in the bedroom to double as personal protection devices.

2) the standard size, usually aluminum, but maybe later a cool rubberized black was always stored in the kitchen and in the trunk of your car.

3) then you had the mid-sized ones perfect for camping and packing in a suitcase (because we did that, as well.)

4) then the penlights, which used to occupy spaces in purses, nightstands and probably the drawer in your coffee and end tables.

5) sometimes you'd get one on a keychain with a swiss army knife and those were very cool, but never as cool as 6) the one that plugged directly into the 9-volt battery.
