this morning and began by scrubbing the bathtub and the toilet (exciting, I know). My next project was cleaning out the fridge. On the bottom shelf of the refrigerator door, there are all sorts of partially full bottles of salad dressing, marinades, and other sauces. Since we recycle plastic and glass, I took a plastic quart size bag (that I wasn't planning to recycle <g>) and filled it with the rest of some expired Catalina dressing, some expired green taco sauce (it was supposed to be green, I swear) and almost an entire bottle of balsamic dressing that probably wasn't going to kill me...but its "best by" date was early 2022, and I had another bottle of balsamic dressing in the fridge anyways. I finished rinsing out the bottles and tossing them in our recycle tote...and the bag of dressing and taco sauce tipped over and spilled all over part of the table and part of the kitchen floor. Miraculously, it managed to miss me (and me wearing my white shorts for the last time this summer). I mopped up most of the mess with paper towels and finished it off with an old kitchen towel, which I rinsed and set in the sink.

Dad is doing laundry this morning and the load was just about ready to toss in the dryer. Too late I noticed he'd tossed my hot pink shirt in the wash. I'd set it aside to wash separately as I've only worn it a couple times, and both times, I washed it by hand afterwards. The first time, the water ran VERY pink; the second time, it ran somewhat pink. I was thinking it might still have some pink to give...anyways, Dad not only tossed the hot pink shirt in the wash, he also threw the old kitchen towel in the dryer before adding the rest of the wet laundry. When I strenuously objected, he informed me he'd rinsed the towel out three times (as had I)...I grabbed it and sniffed it and it still smelled somewhat of balsamic dressing. He grabbed it back and tossed it in the dryer anyways.

So now I'm waiting for the laundry to be finished and half expecting it to all be pink and balsamic dressing-scented.
