3 years. So she's definitely seen some changes.
I understand that you have your issues with your SM. But it is very likely that she is under much more pressure than you realize, especially if she invested years with Chico’s before Sycamore bought them. I’ve seen a lot of people go through this — and it is hard. Of course, SM should not take any of this out on you but maybe cut her a little slack when she seems to be having a particularly bad day.
Oh, I have no doubt she's under pressure. But I also believe with all my heart that some--definitely not all, but some--of her troubles are self-inflicted. Even if she wasn't under pressure to perform, SM very much has a "win at all costs" mentality. She has to be the very best at absolutely everything and expects all of us to be the absolute best as well, all the time. Which...actually doesn't sound bad per se but she reacts badly if we're NOT the best but merely very, very good. Like if there's a contest between the 18 stores in our district and we come in 2nd. I generally do try to give SM some grace and in her defense, her overall attitude has gotten somewhat better (probably because one of my co-workers--the one who has the least to lose if she's fired--told SM to her face that she likes everything about the job but SM and hates working with her). And there's no denying SM is good at her job. So I *do* cut her a little slack on her bad days, even as she cuts us NO slack on our bad days.
