Either way it should not be on you to make up the difference. Especially since most of the issues seems to be the fact your manager is an idiot in regards to coins.
So...interesting update. I went to work today and SM pulled me into the back room. I got yet another lecture on being more careful with the money and then she handed me an envelope with $52 in it. Of her own money. Had this been anyone else, I would've been incredibly touched but I knew SM wasn't giving me the money out of the goodness of her heart. No, she wanted to be a martyr...she told me several times that it was from her own pocket, and if it happens again, she won't be so charitable, blah, blah, blah. It was simply the latest in a long line of gestures from her that seem kind at first glance but which always have ulterior motives.
But I can't complain, really, as I wasn't expecting to get my money back. I was chalking the experience up to an expensive lesson learned.
