I was surprised at how many times he's been to Cleveland. I've eaten at three of the places featured on the show: Sokolowsi's University Inn, Rowley Inn and Momocho. SUI was a great little (actually pretty big) place that served food cafeteria style. It was a Cleveland institution for years but ultimately a combination of COVID and the owner's poor health and desire to retire caused the place to shut its doors for good. Rowley Inn has good food but its location--next to the Christmas Story house and on a small-ish street--makes it difficult to get there, and parking is almost non-existent. The only time I ate there, I literally had to walk close to half a mile to get from where I parked on the street to the restaurant. Momocho's was probably my favorite of the three places with its modern twists on standard Mexican fare, but it's not a diner, drive-in or dive (though it's pretty small) and it's way too expensive for my budget. I ate there maybe 20 years ago...I had chips and salsa (which were not complimentary) plus a plate of enchiladas and a soft drink and it was close to $30. It was good though...and when I told the waiter the salsa was possibly the best I've ever had, he went to the kitchen and returned with a complimentary container of salsa to go with the chips I was taking home.
