It was a couple months past the "best by" date* but you can't tell from the taste or texture of the cookies. I've also gotten boxes of DP's cornbread mix at the salvage grocery store for 40 cents...Dolly makes some darn good cornbread too 😁
* when Mom passed back in 2013, I went through our cupboards and found 13 boxes of cake mix. We didn't even have cake unless it was someone's birthday, but in her later years, Mom was a bit of a food hoarder and worried that if she didn't get certain items every time she was taken grocery shopping, we wouldn't have them, so she overbought. Anyways, some of the cake mixes were long past their expiration dates, as you can imagine. I made one that was three years past the "best by" date...it was fine.
