images in your head, and imagine scenarios, etc.

I finished Hail Mary, which was very enjoyable, even if it felt a bit...young due to one character that is in the book. Still...INCREDIBLE use of what we understand about space exploration and how in the very near future, what happens in the book could happen in the right circumstances. B+ to A-.

I think Ryan Gosling will be fantastic in the role, and am looking forward to the movie.

I just finished Mind Hunter, the book that inspired the series that Netflix dropped after 2 seasons despite fans still complaining that they just dropped it. It was soo good!

The book was written by the Jonathan Groff character in the show, although the show made several changes and combined people from the book in the show into one person, notably his partner was an amalgamation.

A- because the book was written in the 1990s, and so feels a bit dated in some respects. The dude reading it had some kind of old timey-ish voice, which also felt dated. Like he was trying to sound like John Wayne.

Still I am fascinated by the topic of catching these POS serial killers because they often think they are the smartest person in the room, until they meet detectives who know exactly who they are, what triggers them, and can determine everything from their (usually very crappy) relationship with their mothers, to what car they drive and what they do for a living.

The book actually didn't cover Ted Bundy much, but the show did. I then saw an interview on YT with the Leon County (FL) Sheriff who had had behavioral profile training and was the final person to capture him and show (though bite marks that he left on this victims and other things) that he was the killer of several women in Tallahassee. Dang, he read him for the absolute filth he was to his face. He wore him down, and it was lovely to listen to how he broke that MFer and got him convicted and sentenced to death, once and for all.

So I think that's why I like this kind of stuff - listening/learning about how they determine who these maniacs are - and show them that they were in FACT not the smartest person in the room.
