I applied for a translation job back in February that I got an immediate rejection for with no interview or anything, completely forgot about it.
Last week they email me out of the blue saying they had a couple of part time gigs and said if I was interested I could do a translation test. No interview or anything. They would send me a PDF of something that had been translated and I would send my edits. I would have an hour to do it.
So I did it.
Later, while researching the company, found out that it's most likely sending out these tests as a way to get free labour from wannabe translators. Maybe not the case, but they have abysmal reviews on Glassdoor. And a near immediate rejection.
So while I may have dodged a bullet, I also feel stupid for falling for it, rejected once again and now feel even more like a failure than I do on a normal day (which I do feel like.)
This was also the first job movement I've had since the spring.
