Honestly though, with my husband's health issues these days we hardly ever use butter, so it's a moo point.
Because cows make milk, and milk (or rather, the cream on top) can be turned into butter, so..."moo" point 😂
Side note: visiting friends recently bought plant based "butter" to use while cooking at our house. They're not vegan or anything, but use it for other health reasons. They had made eggs, etc. for breakfast and left the stick of "butter" out on the counter for awhile before cleaning up after cooking, eating etc. When we went to pick it up....it was practically liquid! Lesson learned, keep it in the fridge.
I learned the hard way that despite almond milk not being a dairy product, it a) CAN go bad and b) needs to be refrigerated after opening.
