Someone should explain to me why I see a movie over 2 hours and am like "Nope" but have zero problem starting a TV series that is over 100 episodes.
My list:
"Drop". I'd give it an A-. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this one. I wasn't sure how it would go based on the plot -- a widowed mother on a first date starts getting drops to her phone that her son will die if she doesn't kill her date -- but the writing was good and the cast excellent. They kept the mystery and tension up to the very end. I go with an A- tho because there is something towards the end that I found hard to believe but I went with it anyhow. Good movie.
"The Haunting Of The Mary Celeste". This is a C-. The cast is very good but the plot falters a lot and the ending didn't make much sense. Or maybe I was just zoned out by then. A woman with a traumatic past is investigating the historical mystery of the "Mary Celeste", an 1870s ship that was discovered adrift at sea with its cargo in tact, nothing wrong with the ship itself, but everyone onboard missing and never heard from again. The mystery itself is a better story than this movie.
"The Crazies". B+. This was a rewatch just because it was on last night. It's a remake of the old 70's film and it's fun. This one is definitely not reinvesting the zombie genre or anything but I like it. The plot is a plane carrying a covert government bio weapon crashes and infects a small town, turning people into psychotic killers.
