Maybe they're not talking daily, or even weekly? Or maybe they only have a few minutes to talk and Amira does all the talking? I feel she WOULD ask about Mags, but it had been six months so maybe she didn't think Mags was in any danger? Or maybe she's being a self-absorbed teenager, too wrapped up in her STEM program to think much about others? I have no idea!
