makes sense since people dig them up in low tide and eat them. From now on, if someone says “I’m happy as a clam”, I’ll obnoxiously add “in high tide” and expect to get a “huh? back.

Working dogs do work hard but most of the dogs I know are pets/members of the family/king or queen of the house. But if I was around dog sleds, farms/ranches or hunting dogs, I’d think of dogs differently.
