Prone to floods.

We were until 160 years ago when the city raised everything a story and put in a complex system of levees and bypasses.

In recent years, due to climate change and higher river levels, they fortified the levees to accommodate for this. The Sac River is a tidal river but no longer a flood risk where we are.

The two houses are maybe 1/4 mile apart; both are about a block from the river.
