in Charlottesville, not by police but by a white supremacist terrorist attack. In Renee Good’s case, it seems to have been ICE vs an anti-ICE, immigration rights activist who happened to be white.
I do get what you’re saying though. Far more black people are shot by police for holding a phone, hanging out on their own front stoop, looking suspicious just because they are black. But I assure you that white activists don’t automatically feel safe because they are white. I swear, if I had to spend anymore time in Florida in today’s political climate, somebody was going to shoot me because I don’t seem to be able to keep my mouth shut when I see some racist in action. I understand that I have the privilege of being safer speaking up on behalf of a victim of racism than that victim has when defending themself. Safer for sure, but not safe.
