It's at the Trumper's house.

I'd sent both my siblings a text this morning asking if everyone was high and dry because one lives in Central Texas. The Texas one, the Trumper, texted not high or dry, but not as bad as the area where a camp was washed away.

I texted back that I'd heard about the camp and that people are saying that they're getting less warnings and bad forecasts. Then added "At least they're more efficient? Thanks, Elon."

She asked, "What does Elon have to do with the weather predictions? And if the weatherman says there's a 20% chance of rain in your area, he can't say that won't get 100% of that 20%."

I explained that DOGE cuts to NOAA mean less accurate weather.

Her Trumpian response was: Bull, but that's what you want to believe, go with it. No need the share the notion with me any further.

Sadly, I was typing my reply and explaining about less accurate weather due to personnel shortages, only distant weather measurements and no multiple ones at various places. That means less accurate weather for rain, floods, hurricanes, and tornadoes. That it wasn't "efficient" to have many launches or to collect that much data. I also texted in the reply that people can use their weather apps instead...except that those apps get their data for forecasting from NWS, a subset of NOAA. It ended with "If you weren't a prepper before..."

It's going to be a tense visit. I'm glad I'm driving. I can turn around and go home (or stay in my hotel) if it becomes too much.
