I think the "old guard" isn't always meeting the moment. I don't necessarily mean age - Bernie still seems lively, lol - but it's more about PASSION. Passion and enthusiasm and meeting voters where they are. People want to vote FOR something, not necessarily just AGAINST something (I mean, sometimes I'm definitely voting against the GOP, lol, but it's more exciting if I'm excited). They want to believe that the person they're voting for is going to fight FOR them. Not roll over and play dead. Or get in bed with Trump to get a pardon for your crimes ERIC ADAMS I AM LOOKING AT YOU.

On the surface, Mamdani has...not much in common with Abigail Spanberger, who is very much a moderate. But one thing they're both good at is meeting voters where they are and passionately convincing them that they will work to help them with their problems. And I'm not seeing nearly as much of that passion from old-school Dems as I should. Chuck Schumer has got to stop talking. Really, he should step down from leadership, but at a minimum, STOP talking to the cameras. You literally never help.

Also, I'm mad that so many of them tried to shove Andrew Cuomo on us. What IS it with some Dems? It's like they want their very own Trump. Almost as if they WANT to get a free pass to not care about sexual assault, if the candidate is still winning anyway. If the old guard doesn't like Mamdani, they have only themselves to blame. Voters didn't want any more of Cuomo's bull****. Completely out of touch to try to force him back into a public role.
